Federal Impact Aid Survey

October 14, 2022 – October 28, 2022

Each fall, the Northern Burlington County Regional School District reaches out to all parents asking that they complete the Federal Impact Aid survey.  This is a very important document that needs to be completed in a timely manner.  To make this process more convenient for our families, this Federal Impact Aid survey can be completed electronically.

The Northern Burlington County Regional School District must receive an annual signed survey from ALL parents or guardians for EACH student in order to receive federal funding of military affiliated students.

Please note that even if you are not active military or a civilian working on federal property, it is essential that ALL parents and guardians complete and sign this form as of October 14, 2022 by October 28, 2022.

Federal Impact Aid supports local school districts with concentrations of children who have parents/guardians in the uniformed services or parents/guardians employed on eligible Federal Properties. It was designed to assist local school districts that have lost property tax revenue due to the presence of tax-exempt Federal Property served by the district. Each year, Northern Burlington receives Federal Impact Aid funds because of your cooperation in returning these forms to us in a timely manner.

In order for our District to meet the filing deadline, we need to have the completed form(s) submitted no later than October 28, 2022, even if your employment does not fall within the categories listed on the survey. We will have a drawing for a gift card to the school store for those students who have the form completed. The drawings will take place on a weekly basis beginning Monday, October 24th.

Click here to log into your PowerSchool parent account, once logged in click on the link from the left side of the webpage that says Forms and complete the “Title VIII Federal Impact Aid Survey” electronically.  A form needs to be submitted for each child, however if submitting for multiple children, please click the arrow up key next to the submit button. This will allow you to submit the form for each child without having to reproduce each survey selection.

Thank you for your continued support of the Northern Burlington County Regional School District. If you have additional questions, please contact Jill Markley, Administrative Assistant, extension 2003 or Richard Kaz, School Business Administrator (609) 298-3900 extension 2080.

Additional Assistance for Students

Clinical Corner

October is underway.  It is starting to get darker out earlier.  Activities, clubs and sports are in full swing which can make for a long night after school.  This can mean less sleep for your teen who may already have a love/ hate relationship with it.  An article from Positive Psychology states, “ During teenage development, with new and emerging social roles, increased autonomy, changes to circadian rhythms, and a greater tolerance for sleep pressure(literally resisting the urge to sleep), it is even more essential to put in place better sleep hygiene.”  (Tarokh et al, 2016).    Click here to read the remainder of the article.  Hopefully some of the information shared will help parents get more quality shut-eye too!

COVID

As a reminder, students who are sick should REMAIN at HOME.  For those students who have symptoms that might indicate the potential of COVID, they will need to be tested before returning to school.  COVID testing can be done in the Doctor's office, community testing site or an at-home test with results provided to the School Nurse.  If negative, a student may return when feeling well and has no sick symptoms. In cases where students do test positive for COVID, they will need to remain home for a minimum of five days.  Students who test positive for COVID and return to school after five days are strongly recommended to wear a well fitting mask around others through the tenth day. Please contact our school nurse with any questions.

Student IDs

It is very important for students to have their student IDs with them at all times during the school day.  Student IDs are required for buying lunch, and other various reasons.

Chromebooks

Please be aware of our updated protocol for the 22-23 school year:

  • Students are expected to bring their school issued Chromebook & charger to school

every day.

  • It is the students’ responsibility to have their Chromebook charged every day.

  • If a student does not have their Chromebook/charger, they will be sent to the main

office to call a parent/guardian to bring what they are missing.

  • Students who have non-working Chromebooks should report to the main office for a

loaner.  When students receive their repaired Chromebook, it is expected that they return the loaner. Students will need their school ID for this process.

  • The cost to replace a charger is $35.

  • The cost to replace a Chromebook will depend on the age of the Chromebook.
