Dear Parents and Guardians,
Thanks to all those who attended our Genius Hour Summit last night. It was great to see students present information they are passionate about, and so many families there to support.
As a reminder, the marking period ends this upcoming week. Please be sure to log into PowerSchool to check on your students' grades and attendance.
Finally, we know the forecast over the next few days is drawing some attention. We will continue to monitor the weather and plan accordingly. Please be sure to check your phone, email, and Instagram for weather-related updates. Please remain safe and warm.

The course request portal will remain open until January 25 at midnight. At this time, students and families should review the Scheduling Presentation and the 26–27 Program of Studies and make any necessary changes to existing course requests. After January 25, course requests will still be viewable in the portal; however, any changes must be made through your student’s school counselor. Please be sure to review the Schedule Change Calendar to ensure all deadlines are met. If you have questions or need assistance, contact your student’s school counselor. |

Senior Trip will be here before we know it! This year’s trip to Disney World costs about $2000. In order to help lighten the load of the scheduled payments beginning next September, we are allowing you the opportunity to make pre-payments beginning in January 2026. Pre-payments in any amount can be made at any time via cash or check payable to “NBC Class of 2027” and will go towards your trip balance. Any pre-payments will come off your final scheduled payments next year. Any student wishing to go on the trip will still be required to make the first payment in September, no matter how much they have prepaid. If you make pre-payments and your student decides not to go, we can give you a full refund in September. If your student decides not to go on the trip after September, they may only receive a partial refund. All payments can be brought to Mrs. Duff in room 406. |

Northern Burlington has begun gathering information that will help us develop a new Strategic Plan. If you have not already, please consider providing feedback at this ThoughtExchange link. If you have already completed the survey, you can go back and rate responses that others have submitted. This online platform allows you to contribute by answering questions, sharing your thoughts, and rating the ideas of others. This feedback will be the foundation that will shape our new plan. We will host forums later this winter to discuss the results and next steps. Beginning in September, we will be able to accept payments via credit card through an online payment system. |

SFAs may be experiencing increased calls from families concerned about the potential loss of SNAP benefits on November 1st. Please note the New Jersey Basic Needs Information Hub offers a comprehensive listing of websites that can assist households in locating a local food pantry or soup kitchen. Families may also choose to access the Community Food Bank of New Jersey, Food Bank of South Jersey, Fulfill, Norwescap, and Mercer Street Friends websites directly to search for local food resources.
Thank you for providing these important resources to families at this time, and for your unwavering work to ensure New Jersey students receive healthy, nutritious meals every day. |

Sometimes January can get frustrating as we take one step forward-two steps back with the goals we set for ourselves. One small way to stay positive is to keep a note in your phone or in a journal of one thing each day that you did well. Researchers say that while also listing one thing to be grateful for is helpful, finding ways you are competent tends to make people feel happier, even 3 months after they have stopped doing it. Sometimes we need to remind ourselves that we have strengths or that we are capable of doing good things. So for the next two weeks, try this: write down one thing that went well, one thing that you did well, and one thing that you were grateful for that day. We are worth giving ourselves 5 minutes to pause, breathe, and reflect amidst all the craziness. And it just might make you smile and feel a little proud of yourself. |
