Northern FFA 2023 Winter Poinsettia & Plant Sale & Holiday Fundraiser
The Northern FFA Chapter will be holding a Winter Poinsettia & Plant Sale & Holiday Fundraiser on Saturday December 2nd & Sunday December 3rd from 9am-2pm.
Please see the sale dates & times below. Horticulture students will be selling poinsettias and plants in the greenhouse and also making and decorating holiday items including wreaths, kissing balls, and grave blankets. Federal Impact Aid Survey
Each fall, the Northern Burlington County Regional School District reaches out to all parents asking that they complete the Federal Impact Aid survey. This is a very important document that needs to be completed in a timely manner. To make this process more convenient for our families, this Federal Impact Aid survey can be completed electronically.
The Northern Burlington County Regional School District must receive an annual signed survey from ALL parents or guardians for EACH student in order to receive federal funding of military affiliated students.
Please note that even if you are not active military or a civilian working on federal property, it is essential that ALL parents and guardians complete and sign this form. Even though we are past the due date, we still need parents to submit these forms and will continue to follow up with students and their parents who have not yet submitted this important documentation.
Federal Impact Aid supports local school districts with concentrations of children who have parents/guardians in the uniformed services or parents/guardians employed on eligible Federal Properties. It was designed to assist local school districts that have lost property tax revenue due to the presence of tax-exempt Federal Property served by the district. Each year, Northern Burlington receives Federal Impact Aid funds because of your cooperation in returning these forms to us in a timely manner.
We need to have the completed form(s) even if your employment does not fall within the categories listed on the survey. This is the only way to ensure we have covered all families that might live and/or work on eligible federal properties.
Click here to log into your PowerSchool parent account, once logged in click on the link from the left side of the webpage that says Forms and complete the “Title VIII Federal Impact Aid Survey” electronically. A form needs to be submitted for each child, however if submitting for multiple children, please click the arrow up key next to the submit button. This will allow you to submit the form for each child without having to reproduce each survey selection.

NB Winter Craft Fair
Come out to our 5th annual Northern Burlington Holiday Craft Fair on Sunday, December 3, 9am-2pm. There will be plenty of holiday items for purchase and music for all to enjoy. We hope to see you there. Proceeds benefit our Northern Choral and Theatre Programs.

Chick-fil-A Boys Basketball Fundraiser

Clinical Corner
It’s that time of year when you hear the word gratitude probably more often than you want to. Sometimes gratitude is hard to summon. However, if we can even find very small things to appreciate about our life it can make other things easier to cope with. “Gratitude can be defined as having a positive attitude toward life and its events. It can also be defined as having an appreciation of life’s positive aspects. Gratitude can be both an action you practice and an attitude. Creating a gratitude practice such as a journal can help decrease symptoms of depression and anxiety by fostering positive feelings, improving mood and increasing motivation. Gratitude can increase happiness, self-esteem, and sense of worth while decreasing sentiments of frustration, shame or guilt.” Also according to the article’s author, research has shown that individuals who practice gratitude also report better sleep and overall physical health. When starting a gratitude notebook, make sure it is a judgment free zone, where anything you are grateful for goes. Big things might include:
· Health
· Having food
· Access to education
· Meaningful relationships
Little or everyday things shouldn’t be discounted and may include:
· Free Wi-fi
· Your cell phone
· Someone holding the door open for you
· That first cup of coffee
This article, “Finding Things to Be Grateful For: How to Build Your Gratitude List”, makes it easy to think of things and puts them in categories, such as Things to be grateful for in relationships and Things to be grateful for at work, Unique things to be grateful for and Experiences to be grateful for…It’s a good place to start. Encourage your child/student to do this along with you or set a challenge to come up with two things a day through the holidays. For the complete list of sample ideas click here.
Bus Drivers Needed
Please see this FLIER from our transportation office. The district is looking for full and part time bus drivers. The job includes free training to earn CDL, as well as flexible hours. Feel free to share this flier with others who may be interested.

NHS Tutoring
Is your child in need of academic support? Members of the National Honors Society provide tutoring to all Northern Burlington students. High School students can attend tutoring after school Wednesdays.
Relay for Life
Thank you all for your continued support for NB’s Relay for Life event. This year, our event is May 18-19 from 6 pm - 6 am. This year’s theme is: Movies - Lights, Camera, Action Against Cancer
