Thank you to everyone who contributed to our community service project. Thanks to the generosity of our community, and the hard work of our students and staff, we were able to put together over 500 bagged lunches to deliver to TASK. We are thankful for all the support we received in providing this amount of assistance to those in need in our area. |

We are making arrangements for our 8th grade class trip to Great Adventure on June 2. Parents of 8th graders (Class of 2030) should look for a separate email with information about payment and permission slips. |

April is the Month of the Military Child. We have events planned throughout the month to acknowledge the unique sacrifices of the children in military families. However, every Thursday, we invite our students and staff to wear purple, in recognition of the month and of our many students from military families. |

I am a little behind as February was Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month, but I thought it would be important to write about it and time appropriate with spring in the air and new relationships about to bloom. Another reason is that 1 out of 10 teens experience an abusive relationship. Often they will keep silent about such a relationship because they are embarrassed, think it is their fault or may feel afraid they will have to break up with the person and they are not ready to do that. There are many other reasons as well, as mentioned in an ARTICLE from American Academy of Pediatrics. The article also dispels common myths as well as listing red flags such changes in attitude and mood, physical appearance, and activities. It discusses in detail what abusive behavior often looks like, and gives helpful tips about how to talk to your child/students about healthy relationships and if they are in an unhealthy one, how to get out of it. Lastly, there are even scripts on what to say when having such a difficult discussion. And here are three resources that are available 24/7: NJ Domestic Violence Hotline-100-SAFE(7233), Crisis Text Line: Text NJ to 741741 and 2nd Floor Youth Helpline-1-888-222-2228. |

On Friday, June 12th at 7:00 PM, members of the Northern Burlington Middle School Choir will take the field to perform “God Bless America” at the Trenton Thunder game. This special performance is also a fundraiser for our choir program, so we encourage families, friends, and community members to join us for a fun night of baseball while supporting our student musicians. Bring your school spirit and cheer on our talented singers as they represent Northern Burlington! More details about ticket information will be shared soon. Tickets can be purchased using the following link: https://www.gofevo.com/event/Northernburlington22
Hope to see you there! |
