| | Mar. 13: Middle School Fun Night 6:30pm-8:30pm Mar. 20 & 21: Middle School Musical-Singin’ in the Rain Jr. 7:00pm Mar 23-27: Class of 2031 meets w/MS counselors for scheduling Mar 24-26: Class of 2030 meets w/HS counselors for scheduling | | Thank you to everyone who supported the PTSC Scholastic Book Fair, whether through purchases, volunteering, or both. | | The Middle School Student Leaders are planning a Fun Night on Friday, March 13, from 6:30-8:30 pm at the middle school. There will be dancing, games in the gym, snacks, and more! Students should dress casually and wear sneakers to play in the gym. Tickets are $10 or 10 NB3 tickets and will be on sale during lunches Wednesday, March 4-Wednesday, March 11. No tickets will be sold at the door and the event is for Northern Middle School students only. | | On April 2 (the day before spring break) we will conduct a schoolwide community service project where we will be making bagged lunches for the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (TASK). There are a variety of tasks in this project and we hope to involve as many students as possible with assignments ranging from sandwich making, to making flatware bundles, to packing boxes for delivery. To support this project, we are looking for donations. These donations can be “in kind” or cash. In order to organize the event, we ask that all donations be dropped off at the school by Monday, March 30, 2026.
Thanks in advance for everyone’s support. | | Below you will find important scheduling reminders as we continue preparing for the 2026–2027 school year. Please review all the information carefully and log into the PowerSchool Parent Portal to review your student’s course requests. The school counselors have met with 11th-grade students to review course selections for the 2026–2027 school year and have begun meeting with current 10th-grade students. If your student has not yet met with their counselor, please remind them to expect a SmartPass from their school counselor to schedule their course selection meeting.

Academic Advancement Independent Student Learning Opportunities Applications (formerly known as Option II) for summer courses are due to the student’s school counselor by March 1. Since March 1 falls on a Sunday, applications received by 2:30 PM on March 2 will be accepted.
Please note that students may submit an application even if they have not yet had their scheduling meeting with their school counselor. The HS Program of Studies and 26-27 Classroom Scheduling Presentation are available for your review as you finalize your student’s course requests. The Scheduling Presentation highlights our new course offerings for the upcoming school year.
Course requests may be submitted until April 30 by emailing your student’s school counselor. Please refer to the Schedule Change Calendar to ensure all deadlines are met.

Semester II began on Friday, January 29th - The Assistant Principals and Guidance Counselors met with students that had 6 or more lates to school for Semester I - to review the handbook and discuss ways to improve being on time.
The administrators are continuing to meet with students and have begun to issue detentions upon the 4th late to school. Students must be in their homeroom by 7:30 to be considered on time. | | | |  | | In reading Brene Brown’s book, Atlas of the Heart, I felt compelled to share her research about a few of the eighty-seven emotions and experiences she covers. She explains that some are not emotions but experiences that lead to emotions. In the next few Clinical Corners. I hope to expand your emotional vocabulary as I learn along with you. The ability to label our emotions is related to greater emotion regulation and psychosocial well-being. It’s moving away from “What’s wrong with me?” to “Oh, I am feeling _____.” The ability to articulate our emotions leads to deeper connection, with our families, friends, students-everyone. | | Spring sports start next week. Student athletes who have not yet been cleared to participate, are not able to practice or try out until their participation has been approved by the school doctor. While students may still submit the sports participation application and physical, they will not be cleared to participate at the start of the season, this includes tryouts.
