Next week (February 23 - 27) is FFA week. We invite all of our students to join the FFA in observing this event by participating in the dress themes for each day. Here they are:
Theme days Monday 2/23 - Camo Day Tuesday 2/24 -Alaska to Hawaii Day (wear your Hawaiian shirts or cold weather gear) Wednesday 2/25 - Flannel Day Thursday 2/26 - Boots Day Friday 2/27 - Wear Blue for National FFA (Blue and Gold Day)

As part of our fundraising efforts this year we are pleased to offer Gertrude Hawk Chocolates! Physical order forms and payment are due this Monday, February 23 and orders will be delivered to the school during the week of March 23. You can also create a fundraiser account for your child by going to fundraising.gertrudehawkchocolates.com , creating a seller account, and sharing the information with friends and family to purchase chocolate online. Online orders placed before February 23 have the option of being delivered to the school the week of March 23 or delivered to the buyer’s home (Shipping fees apply for home delivery). Online orders can continue to be placed through March 22 for home delivery. |

Key Updates: Friday, February 13: School is in session (Make-up day for the January 26 snow closure). Friday, March 6: Now an early dismissal day for students.

February is Love the Bus. Our Transportation Department has invited everyone to wear yellow on Thursday, February 26. (It is the same day as "Boots Day" for the FFA, and I am sure you could do both if you wanted to observe both events.) |

In reading Brene Brown’s book, Atlas of the Heart, I felt compelled to share her research about a few of the eighty-seven emotions and experiences she covers. She explains that some are not emotions but experiences that lead to emotions. In the next few Clinical Corners. I hope to expand your emotional vocabulary as I learn along with you. The ability to label our emotions is related to greater emotion regulation and psychosocial well-being. It’s moving away from “What’s wrong with me?” to “Oh, I am feeling _____.” The ability to articulate our emotions leads to deeper connection, with our families, friends, students-everyone. |
