Federal Impact Aid Survey: Each fall, the Northern Burlington County Regional School District reaches out to all parents asking that they complete the Federal Impact Aid survey.  This is a very important document that needs to be completed in a timely manner.  To make this process more convenient for our families, this Federal Impact Aid survey can be completed electronically.

The Northern Burlington County Regional School District must receive an annual signed survey from ALL parents or guardians for EACH student in order to receive federal funding of military affiliated students.

Please note that even if you are not active military or a civilian working on federal property, it is essential that ALL parents and guardians complete and sign this form as of October 13, 2023 by October 31, 2023.

Federal Impact Aid supports local school districts with concentrations of children who have parents/guardians in the uniformed services or parents/guardians employed on eligible Federal Properties. It was designed to assist local school districts that have lost property tax revenue due to the presence of tax-exempt Federal Property served by the district. Each year, Northern Burlington receives Federal Impact Aid funds because of your cooperation in returning these forms to us in a timely manner.

In order for our District to meet the filing deadline, we need to have the completed form(s) submitted no later than October 31, 2023, even if your employment does not fall within the categories listed on the survey.

Click here to log into your PowerSchool parent account, once logged in click on the link from the left side of the webpage that says Forms and complete the “Title VIII Federal Impact Aid Survey” electronically.  A form needs to be submitted for each child, however if submitting for multiple children, please click the arrow up key next to the submit button. This will allow you to submit the form for each child without having to reproduce each survey selection.

Thank you for your continued support of the Northern Burlington County Regional School District. If you have additional questions, please contact Jill Markley, Administrative Assistant, extension 2003 or Richard Kaz, School Business Administrator (609) 298-3900 extension 2080.

Student Council Thanksgiving Food Drive: $1 off this Friday Night’s Football Game:  For those attending this Friday’s high school football game, the high school’s Student Council is collecting non-perishable items for families in need within our district. If you would like to donate any items please see the attached flier and receive a $1 off this Friday's Game . We thank you for your continued support!

Remember, middle school students attending the game must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

Clinical Corner: To continue with suicide prevention I thought it would be a helpful reminder of what red flags we need to look out for when it comes to suicide.  Listed below are signs that someone may be thinking about hurting themselves:

  • Drastic changes in mood and behavior even if for the better

  • Engaging in risky behaviors

  • Aggressiveness and irritability

  • Possessing lethal means

  • Feeling like a burden

  • Isolating or feeling alone

  • Self-harm like cutting or other behaviors

  • A sense of hopelessness or no hope for the future

  • Making suicide threats

  • Giving things away

  • Making funeral arrangements

  • Substance abuse

Sometimes signs are not always perfectly clear either so trust your gut if you are not sure and ask.  Let them know that this is a scary topic but one you are not afraid to talk about.  When we bring our thoughts out into the light they become a little less scary than carrying them around in the dark alone.

Middle School Yearbook:  The 2024 Polaris Yearbook is now accepting pre-orders! Take advantage of our Back-to-School special: $9 off (full price is $59) and FOUR FREE icons when you purchase personalization ($10). The Back-to-School special ends October 27, 2023. Middle School Class Fundraisers: We are having a school wide fundraiser  from Charleston Wrap!!!   This money raised goes to the respective classes (2028 and 2029).  These funds support their class activities through high school.

Winter Sports: Winter sports registration is now open for the 2023-24 season.  This would be for basketball, wrestling, and cheerleading.

If you currently have an athletic registration account, please log in with your username and password.  Do not create a new one.  If you need assistance, please feel free to contact the Athletic Office at 609-298-3900, ext. 2093.

For the basketball team, in particular, there are tryouts.  In order for a student to participate in tryouts, they must be medically cleared.  So it is important to start the process now rather than waiting and risk not being cleared to participate in a timely fashion.

PTSC: Middle School Book Fair starts on Monday!

Set up your student's eWallet: https://www.scholastic.com/bf/northernburlingtonregms

We need volunteers to run the fair. Thank you! https://www.signupgenius.com/go/70A0849A9AC2BA0FB6-44547785-2023

Team Theme Day on Halloween (10/31):  Our school climate committee and the interdisciplinary teams are working on developing a team theme day to coincide with Halloween.   Students are NOT to wear traditional costumes  to school (save those types of costumes for any after school and evening events).  Instead, we are going to have team competitions based on themes with the goal of building team spirit and solidarity.  Each team is going to have a theme and each student is welcome to participate with their team.  There will be prizes for the winning team.

The teams’ themes are listed below  and typical school dress code applies  as well as no masks, no face paint, and no hair coloring in school (they make a mess).  Team teachers will provide additional information to the students.
