No Place for Hate

We received word that our school has again earned the designation as a No Place for Hate School for the 21-22 school year.  While we recognize that there is still work to be done in this regard, it is certainly a well deserved recognition. Thank you for your support of this initiative.

Chromebooks:

Students in grades 9-11 keep their chromebooks over the summer.   For those students entering 9th grade (Class of 2026), they will be handing in the current chromebook in exchange for a new chromebook on August 25, 29, 30, 31 from 10-2 in the High School bus lot.  In the event a student needs to withdraw from Northern Burlington during the summer, as part of the regular sign out process, please bring the Chromebook and charger to turn it back to the school. For lost and damaged items: $225 for a Chromebook and $35 for a charger.

Sports Physicals

Northern Burlington’s Athletic Physical Packets are officially online! Paper forms will no longer be accepted by the Nursing/Athletic Departments. Please be patient as we continue to work on the implementation of the new system.

As of June 2nd, 2022, packets are being accepted for 1) Summer Conditioning and 2) All Fall HS Sports/Activities. Important upcoming dates – A) June 7th – Release of Physical Packet for Fall MS Sports. Please note if you are registering for Summer Conditioning, and you plan to participate in a Fall Sport, you must register for BOTH events independently. For additional assistance, please contact the athletic department.

Any student who wishes to participate in a fall sport, middle school or high school, must complete this important process in order to be eligible.

Clinical Corner Spotlight:

Preparing Your Child for a Safe Summer:  As we enter a third summer with the burden of COVID related uncertainty, we are reminded that schools play a critical role in the community, a role that reaches far beyond academic instruction. Students and parents rely on teachers and school communities to provide structure and emotional support, to supply nutritious meals, to offer medical and mental health services, and to offer opportunities for recreation and for socialization. As this school year draws to a close, parents can maximize the safety of their children by collaborating with teachers and mental health professionals to develop a safety plan that will incorporate opportunities for structure and support over the summer months. • Happy Summer Break - Summer is just around the corner! As you start planning your summer activities, remember to allow yourself time to rest, restore, and reconnect.

  • Choose the outdoors. Spending time outside helps reduce stress and anxiety, boost your mood, and inspire creativity. Try walking, hiking, biking, gardening, or enjoying a shady picnic in the park.

  • Spend time with loved ones. On a day-to-day basis, it’s easy to get stuck in our own routines and lose quality time with friends and family. Find time to reconnect this summer with shared meals, game nights, movie nights, or a simple phone call.

  • Catch up on sleep. During busy times, we sometimes stray from healthy sleep habits. Practice creating a consistent sleep schedule and get the much needed rest your body deserves.

Most importantly, have fun and do one thing each day that makes you happy.

 2022-23 District Calendar approved April 25, 2022.
