Federal Impact Aid Survey:

This is the same message as last week, but it is important that we have every family complete the Federal Impact Aid Form so we are going to run this message for the next few weeks.  It just takes a few moments to fill out the Federal Impact Aid Survey on Power School and the form can be completed for siblings all at the same time.  Just be sure to log onto Power School using your parent account, not the student account.

Each fall, the Northern Burlington County Regional School District reaches out to all parents asking that they complete the Federal Impact Aid survey.  This is a very important document that needs to be completed in a timely manner.  To make this process more convenient for our families, this Federal Impact Aid survey can now be completed electronically.

The Northern Burlington County Regional School District must receive an annual signed survey from ALL parents or guardians for EACH student in order to receive federal funding of military affiliated students.

Please note that even if you are not active military or a civilian working on federal property, it is essential that ALL parents and guardians complete and sign this form immediately.

Federal Impact Aid supports local school districts with concentrations of children who have parents/guardians in the uniformed services or parents/guardians employed on eligible Federal Properties. It was designed to assist local school districts that have lost property tax revenue due to the presence of tax-exempt Federal Property served by the district. Each year, Northern Burlington receives Federal Impact Aid funds because of your cooperation in returning these forms to us in a timely manner.

In order for our District to meet the filing deadline, we need to have the completed form(s) submitted  immediately, even if your employment does not fall within the categories listed on the survey.

Click here to log into your PowerSchool parent account, once logged in click on the link from the left side of the webpage that says Forms and complete the “Title VIII Federal Impact Aid Survey” electronically.  A form needs to be submitted for each child, however if submitting for multiple children, please click the arrow up key next to the submit button. This will allow you to submit the form for each child without having to reproduce each survey selection.

Thank you for your continued support of the Northern Burlington County Regional School District. If you have additional questions, please contact Jill Markley, Administrative Assistant, extension 2003 or Richard Kaz, School Business Administrator (609) 298-3900 extension 2080.

Parent Conferences:

evening conferences

All Conferences are scheduled online via PTC Wizard.  While the conferences are open to all parents, there are a limited number of appointments available.  If you are not sure if a conference is necessary, feel free to contact the teacher directly.   For parents who are interested in a conference they are encouraged to register as soon as possible.  If you are unable to meet during conferences or feel that you may need more than the 10 minutes allotted per appointment, we invite you to contact your child’s teacher or counselor to make alternate arrangements.

 How it works:

  1. Parents create an account in PTC Wizard. It is helpful to have a list of the student’s teachers handy.

  2. Once logged in, parents choose:

    1. Which set of conferences they prefer and the teachers they wish to see from a staff listing of all high school teachers.

    2. Parents will then see which teachers are available for a given time slot, and sign up for appointments.

    3. Note:  If a teacher is fully booked, they will not appear as a choice for that day/time

    4. PTC Wizard will send parents a confirmation email that includes their schedule with the room number (In-Person Conferences) or Zoom link (Virtual Conferences) for each of their appointments.

    5. On or about November 16, PTC Wizard will send all parents a reminder email for their appointments.

Instructional Supports for Students in Quarantine

In addition to watching the lesson and interacting with individual teachers during prep/resource periods, a schedule of virtual instructional support will be available after school beginning November 8th. The support program will be evaluated at the end of November. The Counseling Office will email impacted students and families with the meeting schedule and links.

Travel guidelines

While the CDC recommends delaying travel until individuals are fully vaccinated, New Jersey's travel advisory is no longer in effect.  Subsequently, mandatory post-travel quarantine is not required for domestic, out of state travel, within the United States.  Therefore, NB will recommend that, for 14 days after travel,  individuals self-monitor for COVID-19 compatible symptoms such as cough, breathing difficulties, loss of taste &/or smell,  fever, chills, shivers, muscle aches, headache, sore throat, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea, fatigue, congestion, or runny nose, and isolate and get tested if any symptoms occur.

Masks:

Students, staff and visitors are required to wear masks while in school.  We are grateful for the attention given to this requirement and cooperation in this regard.

More recent CDC guidelines regarding masks have been posted and these are noted below:

  • Wear masks with two or more layers to stop the spread of COVID-19

  • Wear the mask over your nose and mouth and secure it under your chin

  • CDC does not recommend the use of gaiters or face shields. Evaluation of these face covers is on-going but effectiveness is unknown at this time.

Per the CDC guidelines, gaiters are not recommended at this time because of questionable effectiveness.  Furthermore, since masks must be secured under the chin, traditionally worn bandanas are not considered effective either.  As a result, students, staff and visitors may not wear bandanas or gaiters as a mask while in school.  Disposable masks will be provided for those who do not bring an acceptable mask to school.  Students who do not comply with proper mask wearing will be sent home.

COVID Monitoring:

Our school nurse wanted to remind parents to screen their children DAILY for symptoms before sending them to school.  Parents/caregivers should monitor their children for signs of illness every day as they are the front line for assessing illness in their children. Students who are sick should stay home from school and call the attendance line: 609.298.3900 x 2029
