Northern Burlington's First Virtual College Fair:

Northern Burlington's First Virtual College Fair will take place on September 28, 2021, starting at 6:00 pm. Over 45 colleges will be sharing information with our students regarding their college programs and offerings.

Students and parents can register via the same link. Parents should use their child's information (as that's who colleges will ultimately communicate with). If a student and their parents want to go to the same session, and they'll be at the same computer, no need to register twice. If a student and their parents want to go to different sessions, or they won't be at the same computer, they should register individually.

Students and parents can sign in via the zoom link that is sent via email. It can be shared between student and parent / guardian.

Meet the Teachers:

In place of our traditional Back to School Night, we are holding a virtual “Meet the Teachers.”  On October 1st, look for a link to the video presentations for all of the teachers in the Parent Message.  The presentations will include a course overview, as well as expectations for the class, just as you would in a typical back to school night event.  It comes with the added benefit that it can be viewed at a time that is convenient for you, and if you have multiple students in the high school, you do not need to choose which teachers to see, you can see them all.  If there are any questions about a class, please contact the teacher. Of course, a virtual introduction also eliminates any concerns about the large crowds indoors the event might draw during a pandemic. There will also be a welcome message from administration and our PTSC President, Mrs. Mojena.

Parent conferences will be in November and those will be a choice of in person or by video conference.

Financial Aid Night:

Financial Aid Night for parents of a college bound student in the fall of 2021 will take place on October 5, 2021, in the Middle School Cafe at 6:30pm until 8:30 pm.  This event is for parents of seniors and their high school seniors to attend.  At least one parent should attend this event.  Information will provide an overview of the Financial Aid Process and answer questions about grants, scholarships, and loans offered by the State of New Jersey.  Feedback has shown that HESAA's (Higher Education Student Assistance Authority)  information sessions to students and their families make everyone feel more comfortable with the Financial Aid Process.

Open House - Save the date:

On October 7th we are welcoming community members to our High School Open House from

6:30 pm - 8:30 pm. There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony at 6:15 pm in front of the new main entrance.  During the Open House, we will be highlighting our departmental offerings and showcasing our extracurricular activities. Please note that masks are required to be worn inside the school.

Homecoming:

The Homecoming Carnival and game are scheduled for Saturday, October 9.  The carnival will be held from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm and the football game starts at 2:00 pm. This is open to the entire community. Please see this FLYER for more information on the carnival.

Homecoming 2021 Dance tickets will be sold September 22nd - 30th on Showtix4u.com and in-person on September 28th and 29th by the Main Office. More details are posted on the grade level Google classrooms. There is a limited number of tickets. NO outside guest will be permitted.

Morning drop off and afternoon pick up:

The only place students may be dropped off or picked up is by the West Gym in the west parking lot. No parent cars are permitted to enter the bus driveway or the main parking lot entrances, east of the marquee. Safety is our priority and our goal is to have a smooth traffic pattern in the morning, so we ask that students being dropped off exit their cars and walk on the sidewalk to the door by the West Gym. The right hand lane is preferred for drop offs and the left hand lane for student drivers, however in the event that traffic is backing up onto Mansfield Road East, please use both lanes for drop off.  Students are expected to be in their period 1-2 classes by 7:20 am.

College Accelerated Program (CAP) Information:

The Northern Burlington County Regional High School District has an agreement with Rowan College at Burlington County which enables our students to earn college credits for selected courses in which they are presently enrolled. The application deadline for credit for courses taken during the 2021-2022 academic year is Sunday, October 31, 2021.  Visit RCBC CAP Program for information.

Winter Sports:

We are now accepting Physical Packets for winter sports. Please submit them to highschoolathletics@nburlington.com at your earliest convenience.

Masks:

Students, staff and visitors are required to wear masks while in school.  We are grateful for the attention given to this requirement and cooperation in this regard.

More recent CDC guidelines regarding masks have been posted and these are noted below:

Wear masks with two or more layers to stop the spread of COVID-19

Wear the mask over your nose and mouth and secure it under your chin

CDC does not recommend the use of gaiters or face shields. Evaluation of these face covers is on-going but effectiveness is unknown at this time.

Per the CDC guidelines, gaiters are not recommended at this time because of questionable effectiveness.  Furthermore, since masks must be secured under the chin, traditionally worn bandanas are not considered effective either.  As a result, students, staff and visitors may not wear bandanas or gaiters as a mask while in school.  Disposable masks will be provided for those who do not bring an acceptable mask to school.

School Lunches:

We are fortunate to have three cafeterias now:  West Cafe, East Cafe, and Main Cafe.  The new Main Cafe is very large and using all three cafeterias for each lunch period will enable us to do a better job of spacing students out.

  • Similar to last year - lunches are free for students. However, they must have their school ID to have the lunch scanned. Students may purchase a second lunch if they would like.

  • All three cafeterias will have the same offerings.

  • Students must stay in their assigned cafeteria & will remain at the same lunch table.

  • Minimal outdoor seating will be available

  • Students are permitted to remove their masks when eating.

  • Students will be required to wear masks when not seated in the cafeteria.

  • Students may not eat in other areas of the building.

Paying for School Lunches

  • Parents have the option to pay for a second lunch on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. The District utilizes a Cafeteria Data Management System named Lunch Time.  To access the Lunch Time Parent Portal, from the drop down menu on the High School tab of our website www.nburlington.com; choose explore, students & parents resources, “Food Services'', then choose “Lunch Time Parent Portal'' from the options on the right.

  •  Students may also pay for lunch using cash at the point of sale or by check.  Checks should be made payable to Northern Burlington County Regional Cafeteria Account, please include the student’s full name, and school ID number on the check.
