Message to Parents and Community

The Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) tests measure how well students have learned grade-level material in English language arts/literacy (ELA/L) and mathematics and their preparedness for college and careers. The tests include questions that measure students’ fundamental skills and knowledge, and require students to think critically, solve problems and support their answers.

NJ Statewide Assessment Program

The PARCC assessments more accurately measure the higher-level skills developed under the New Jersey Student Learning Standards and provide parents and educators with meaningful information to improve teaching and learning. The New Jersey Department of Education provides assessment resources to assist parents with interpreting their student’s individual score reports that can give parents a common language to use in the discussions with teachers about their student’s progress.

PARCC Assessments

  • English Language Arts and Literacy (ELA/L) grades 3 – 11
  • Mathematics grades 3 – 8 and Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II
