Dear Parents and Guardians:

Here are the weekly updates from the middle school:

Federal Impact Aid Survey: (October 15, 2021 – October 30, 2021) Each fall, the Northern Burlington County Regional School District reaches out to all parents asking that they complete the Federal Impact Aid survey.  This is a very important document that needs to be completed in a timely manner.  To make this process more convenient for our families, this Federal Impact Aid survey can now be completed electronically.

The Northern Burlington County Regional School District must receive an annual signed survey from ALL parents or guardians for EACH student in order to receive federal funding of military affiliated students.

Please note that even if you are not active military or a civilian working on federal property, it is essential that ALL parents and guardians complete and sign this form as of October 15, 2021 and return by October 30, 2021.

Federal Impact Aid supports local school districts with concentrations of children who have parents/guardians in the uniformed services or parents/guardians employed on eligible Federal Properties. It was designed to assist local school districts that have lost property tax revenue due to the presence of tax-exempt Federal Property served by the district. Each year, Northern Burlington receives Federal Impact Aid funds because of your cooperation in returning these forms to us in a timely manner.

In order for our District to meet the filing deadline, we need to have the completed form(s) submitted no later than October 30, 2021, even if your employment does not fall within the categories listed on the survey.

Click  here to log into your PowerSchool parent account, once logged in click on the link from the left side of the webpage that says Forms and complete the “Title VIII Federal Impact Aid Survey” electronically.  A form needs to be submitted for each child, however if submitting for multiple children, please click the arrow up key next to the submit button. This will allow you to submit the form for each child without having to reproduce each survey selection.

Thank you for your continued support of the Northern Burlington County Regional School District. If you have additional questions, please contact Jill Markley, Administrative Assistant, extension 2003 or Richard Kaz, School Business Administrator (609) 298-3900 extension 2080.

Start Strong Testing:  Middle school students completed the New Jersey Start Strong testing this past week.  Thank you to our students helping to ensure the process went smoothly.  For those students who were absent, make-up testing will take place in the coming days.

Student Pictures: Middle School pictures will be held this week on Tuesday, October 19 during PE classes.  All students will be photographed since these are the pictures used for the yearbook, students ID and the like.  For parents who wish to purchase a picture package the order form was sent home October 8 and a copy of that form can be found at this LINK.  All order forms and money should be given directly to the representatives from the photography company by the students on picture day, October 19.  Online ordering on mylifetouch.com with picture day id:  EVTWP6T2N.

BookFair:  The PTSC is excited to be able to offer the in person Scholastic Book Fair this fall! The Book Fair is scheduled for October 25-October 29 in the hall outside the Middle School Media Center. Please consider signing up to help out at this season's book fair using the link below. Please keep in mind that while the book fair is held in the middle school, the funds raised are spread throughout the district!  The PTSC is also looking for a person/people to chair/co-chair the book fair starting next year as our current chair will be graduating this spring. If you are interested please contact the PTSC at nburlingtonptsc@gmail.com. It is a minimal time commitment, and very rewarding!

Fall 2021 Book Fair

Burlington County Institute of Technology (BCIT): During the next few days our 8th grade students will review the BCIT introduction video in their Science classes. If you are interested in learning more about BCIT you may want to attend Discovery Night. It is scheduled to take place on October 21st beginning at 6pm. They are asking parents to pre-register their visit to reduce the crowds in the hallway as much as possible. Masks will be mandatory. This night is a great opportunity to tour the buildings and see what CTE is about.

Winter Sports: We are now accepting Physical Packets for winter sports.  The season will be starting before we know it and students must be medically cleared to try out and participate, so students who are planning to go out for one of the winter teams need to submit this paperwork as soon as possible.   Please submit completed packets to MiddleSchoolAthletics@nburlington.com at your earliest convenience.

COVID Monitoring:  Our school nurse wanted to remind parents to screen their children DAILY for symptoms before sending them to school.  Parents/caregivers should monitor their children for signs of illness every day as they are the front line for assessing illness in their children. Students who are sick should stay home from school and call the attendance line: 609.298.3900 x 4060.

In addition, the district manages a dashboard that is posted on our website to track COVID activity.

PTSC and Amazon Smile:  The Parent Teacher Student Connection (PTSC) has an Amazon Smile account for any community members who would like to support the PTSC while shopping online.  Simply go to http://smile.amazon.com  and search for the "Parent Teacher Student Connection" in the list of organizations (it is listed as being in Columbus, NJ) and then go through that portal to do your Amazon shopping.  Amazon will donate 0.5% of all purchases to the PTSC.  Please email nburlingtonptsc@gmail.com with any login questions.
