Class of 2025 Picnic: Friday, June 4th from 5 to 7 pm we will celebrate the Class of 2025 with a picnic at the Middle School. Tickets will be sold until Thursday, May 27th. In-person students (Cohort F) will purchase before homeroom each day. Remote students(or parents) may come to the Middle School daily until 3 pm each day to purchase. TICKETS ARE $5; exact change appreciated, or check will be accepted. This event is only open to current Northern Burlington 8th graders.

Please continue to keep your student home for any sick symptoms.  The remote option is available on a day to day basis if a student is ill  on in-person school days. 

 

NJ Travel Advisory:  The latest New Jersey travel advisory can be found here:  As of 5/17,  the NJ Travel Advisory is no longer in effect for fully vaccinated individuals.

Unvaccinated individuals should follow CDC guidance regarding domestic and international travel.

Unvaccinated Travelers and residents returning from any U.S. state or territory beyond the immediate region (New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and Delaware) are still required to quarantine:

  • If the traveler has a COVID test 3-5 days upon return to NJ and receives negative COVID results, the quarantine period may be reduced to a full 7 days after travel

  • If testing is not done or not available (or if the results are delayed), travelers should quarantine for 10 days after travel.

Student Vaccinations:  COVID vaccines are now available for adolescents age 12 and older.  Several options are available for appointments:

If a student needs to miss school to get a vaccination or its side effects, please submit a copy of the vaccination card to the school nurse (tpugliese@nburlington.com) for the absence to be excused.

Please continue to share any COVID-19 cases or exposures with our school nurses. We ask that you directly contact your student’s nurse as this information is critical for monitoring community incidence & planning for safely keeping our school open.

    

Summer Band:  The Music Department of Northern Burlington will once again offer our free SUMMER BAND program.. All band students entering grades 5-12 are invited and encouraged to take this opportunity to continue their instrumental music education. 

This year's program will be held in the High School Band Room onJune 28th to July 1st (Monday-Thursday), and on July 12th to July 15th (Monday-Thursday). The full schedule and registration can be found at nbcbands.com

Origami Fun After School Program:  This program is free to all Northern Students, grades 7 to 12 and takes place via Google Meet on Wednesdays and Thursdays, from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm starting May 19th through June 17th.  Registration is required.  Click HERE for more information.

PTSC Clothing Drive:  May 24 to June 7:  As a result of the pandemic, the PTSC has not been able to do any of its traditional fundraising activities this year.  The clothing drive is a contact free way for them to raise funds for activities the PTSC supports such as mini-grants and student scholarships.  

The PTSC Spring Clothing Drive begins May 24! Please use this fundraiser to clean out your closets and help those in need. We have used  A & E Clothing Corporation, out of Carteret NJ, for many years. You may look at their website to learn about all the amazing work they do. Their website is www.aeclothing.net

  • Please bag your clothing and shoes separately. 

  • Items NOT accepted: electrical devices, glass, VCR tapes,  large sports equipment, board games,  books,  pots and pans, puzzles,  furniture, and  large toys. 

  • The drop off location is the pole barn behind the Middle School that is accessible via Island Road.  There will be signs posted.  

  • Due to all the regulations in place because of Covid, please be sure your bags are all properly sealed. Nothing should be exposed. Please help to keep us safe!  

  • Please do not drop any items off any later than 12:00 pm on June 7th.

Parent Teacher Student Connection (PTSC):   Please remember to become a member of our organization this year. If you are already a member, thank you! You can access our link through the Northern Burlington site. Payments of $10 per family are accepted via check or through PayPal. It is important that we receive your contribution as this money is channeled back to our students in the form of mini grants, awarded to teachers for use in their classrooms, as well as Scholarships granted to seniors. Clinical Corner Spotlight:  Northern Burlington has partnered with Effective School Solutions and they will be hosting a virtual parent/community workshop on Wednesday, May 26th from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. The presentation topic will beDestigmatizing Mental Health” presented by: Eva Brown.  This workshop helps parents and caregivers have a better understanding of what mental health wellness means in a child: the signs and symptoms that can make a child appear “fragile”, or aggressive or withdrawn, as well as specific techniques for helping that child be more successful. Group Counseling for Students:   NOW ENROLLING FOR SUMMER SESSIONS:  We are excited to announce that Northern Burlington School District has recently collaborated with First Children Services (FCS) to provide therapeutic mental health services; group counseling to students.  This is a free 6-week group (in-person) where students will engage with a licensed clinician and their peers to discuss various topics such as: emotional regulation, self-esteem, friendship and relationship issues, behavior management, stress management, fears or worries, academic progress, conflict resolution, social skills, adjustment to school, etc.  This partnership will enable students who meet the program criteria the opportunity to access these important services on school grounds.  We will be offering these services throughout the upcoming year.  If you are interested in having your child participate, please contact your child’s Guidance Counselor.  Limited spaces available, deadline is June 11th.

 

Spring Sports:  Schedules, cohorts and procedures will continue to be communicated via the sport-specific google classrooms. New medical guidelines have been issued at the local and nationwide levels recommending any person who has been Covid-19 Positive or presumed (suspected) Covid-19 Positive must be medically cleared after COVID-19 infection and before participation in sports, gym, or any school physical activity as there is a risk of post-Covid cardiac complications.  Please contact the school nurse with any questions.

 

Ordering School Lunch for ALL Students 18 Years and Under:  Please note that Lunches are FREE FOR ALL YOUR STUDENTS through the month of June 2021

Remote lunch pick up schedule will be on Mondays and Tuesdays between the hours of 10 am to 11:30 am.  

For Remote Students:  Use the link below to place an order in the morning, before 8:00 am.  Order it under your child’s name and if ordering for multiple children, place an order for each child individually.

The pick-up location is near the Middle School’s rear entrance (Middle School Door C-3 that leads into the teachers’ lounge) via the Island Road entrance and taking the 1st left to go toward the back of the school. Masks must be worn at all times and for social distancing purposes, NB will limit the number of people entering the middle school facility at one time.

 

For Students Present in the Building:  When students are present in school, they will have the option to pre-order a grab and go lunch during homeroom. Students or parents will use this google form to order lunch selection by 8 AM for that day's pick up when they are dismissed from their last period of the day.
