School Choice
The Northern Burlington County Regional School District (NBCRD) Board of Education is pleased to provide the following information for all interested in our Inter-district Public School Choice Program (IPSC). This fall, NBC opened its doors to the IPSC program for the first time and the administration is closely monitoring its progress. The information that follows is designed to assist interested families in the navigation of the application process for the 2012-1013 school year.
It is a well recognized fact that the Northern Burlington County Regional School District offers a premier Agriscience program for students in grades 7 - 12. In fact, more recently, Northern's nationally award winning FFA program celebrated its 50th year of existence, becoming only the sixth FFA Chapter charted in New Jersey to commemorate that milestone. It is the belief of the Northern Burlington County Regional School District Board of Education that offering Northern's Agriscience program as an Inter-district Public School Choice Program increases and expands the exposure for potential future farmers to the Agriscience community and to the science, business, and technology of farming in the 21st century. In fact, there are over 300 career areas associated with the agriculture, food and natural resources industry which account for more that 17% of all occupations in the United States!
Please carefully review the “Student Application Guidelines” provided and please note that:
STEP ONE: Parent/Guardian must submit a notice of intent to participate in the school choice program to the Superintendent of the district in which the student resides. THE DEADLINE FOR THIS IS NOVEMBER 1, 2011.
STEP TWO: Once having received approval from your district of residence, SUBMIT THE COMPLETED APPLICATION TO THE NORTHERN BURLINGTON COUNTY REGIONAL SCHOOL DISTRICT'S OFFICE OF THE SUPERINTENDENT. In addition, the district will be offering a MANDATORY PARENT/STUDENT ORIENTATION SESSION on November 16th at 7:30 PM in the high school. All new candidates seeking admissions to NBC in the choice program MUST ATTEND this orientation session. |
