SPRING INSPIRATION WITH FLOWERS

LANDSCAPE AND DESIGN

It is a new year and time to finally start planning a scenic, yet functional outdoor living area. Create that patio you have always wanted or a beautiful flower garden to attract butterflies. Your perfect landscape is only limited by your imagination. If you’re still not sure then come and get some ideas from a landscape expert. Regardless if you do it yourself or hire a professional let me help you gain the tools you can use. You’ll learn what your landscape style is, how to survey your site, how to pick your palette of plants and how to lay out paths. You’ll also find out how to maintain your landscape, how and when to install your landscape and more. Why wait, there is no time like the present. All you need is a pad, pencil and a vision!

KNITTING FOR BEGINNERS WITH A TWIST

Learn how to coast on, knit purl and bind off. We will learn the basic garter stitch. Our first project will be a scarf. Materials needed for the first class will be 8 oz. Yarn sport or bulky, 10 ½ needles (plastic, metal or wooden). Also, a short demonstration on the first night, spinning on a wheel – how to make your own yarn. This is basic knitting course, but you will also learn how to make your own yarn on a spinning wheel.

BUILD A DOLL HOUSE

Learn to build a doll house using a kit. The kit is a one inch scaled doll house. It consists of two levels, which can be a beach house, cottage, store or whatever you choose. All materials will be supplied for a $25 fee due the first night of class. Supplies include the kits, paints, brushes, glue, tape, furniture, curtain fabric, carpet fabric and chimney material.

Learn how to use this very popular word processing system for both personal and professional development. In this introductory class, you will learn the basics of creating, editing, formatting, saving, and printing documents. AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE FOR BEGINNERS

Always wanted to learn sign language? Well, let’s get started! Come and learn basic vocabulary and American Sign Language grammatical features to communicate “voice-off.” No experience necessary. AMERICAN RED CROSS BABYSITTER’S TRAINING

This popular course gives 11-15 year olds the knowledge, skills and confidence to care for infants and school-age children. Through video, activities and hands-on practice, participants learn to respond to emergencies and illnesses, make decisions under pressure, understand stages of childhood development, recognize safety issues, manage young children safety, and feed, diaper and care for infants. Participants also receive tips on professionalism, including communicating with parents, respecting diversity, and exercising good business practices. Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate.

AMERICAN RED CROSS – CPR MADE SIMPLE

This is a non-certified training. CPR Made Simple is a course designed for individuals who want to learn CPR/AED, but do not need or desire certification. This course introduces individuals to Adult CPR/AED and focuses on hands-on practice of Adult CPR/AED skills. A “has attended” card will be issued.

CPR RECERTIFICATION

Has your CPR certification expired? Here’s a chance to renew it all in just one night! All participants must have already been American Red Cross certified within the past two years in Adult/Child/Infant CPR. This class will involve a video presentation paired with practical application using manikins and include either a new certification or re-certification in the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). A multiple choice exam will be given at the end of the class.

STANDARD FIRST AID

This interactive and informative course is designed to help participants learn the skills necessary to recognize emergency situations, avoid bloodborne pathogen exposure, care for wounds, bone and soft tissue injuries, head and spinal injuries, burns, heat and cold emergencies, manage sudden illnesses and minimize the effects of shock. Upon completion of this course participants will receive a Standard First Aid certificate that is valid for three years.

Shall We Dance? Of course! Because our techniques make learning to dance fun and easy for everyone to learn. Unlike the movies or television shows, there is no emphasis on competition. We want you to feel confident to get up on the dance floor at any social gathering. This course is geared toward those with little or no dancing experience and will include the basic steps in Fox Trot, Waltz, Tango, Jitterbug and Latin Dancing. This course goal is to improve confidence as well as scores. Math and verbal instruction is combined with problem-solving logic and strategies to teach the students how to most effectively take the new SAT.
